Outside I (eye)

Noticing the subtle ambiguity of what we previously called the ‘everyday’,

the online performance Outside I (eye) in collaboration with Art Map presented

opening spaces for reflection and chance between bodies and the physical world.

 

Given the redefining of social space currently underway,

The Buoy asked how to both notice and express this change.

Acknowledging ‘noticing as value,’

the live online performance utilizing Instagram Live explored the ability to notice

helped by an outsider-looking, that is to say, seeing things in a different way from an outsider’s perspective.

​

Guiding and guided by the outsider beholder,

the project traced the relative nature of the familiar within one neighborhood in Hong Kong.
