The exhibition Re-Materializing the Archive is the 3rd part of the Finding the Found series.
In this exhibition, Marty Miller explored how found photographs of Hong Kong mix with personal photos, reappear on screens, and gain new meanings. Screenshots are central, revealing how images are archived and read differently by humans and machines.
The exhibition was designed as a system to guide the audience on a journey where multiple paths of images come into (re)existence and are acknowledged as they crisscross throughout the space.
Ultimately, one could engage in a triadic dialogue, consciously confronting the specific temporal niche where humans are able to voice their perspectives over the systems.
