Deciphering Fantastic Creatures

Deciphering Fantastic Creatures is a speculative design workshop that explores the question:

How can we leverage imagination to expand our senses towards the world?

The participants were invited to come to the southern area of Lamma Island,

gathered textures around the beaches through the frottage method,

created new species by collaging the textures,

and told stories about them based on specific biological processes from a scientific perspective.

Once the new species were introduced,

the relationships between the species and the environment were co-narrated.
