Participatory Installation
HART Haus, Hong Kong
The project Between Lines, responding to the unsettling sentiment of the current world, is twofold.
The first phase has been presented as part of the showcase Trans/Verse at HART Haus as a participatory installation. In the installation are some 80 images of ‘future’ searched online through ten different languages determined by the linguistic demographics of Hong Kong and the settings of VPN in accordance.
The images were arranged on a wall next to a large open desk full of potted plants for participants to review and access. Participants were encouraged to take a moment to reflect on the imposed images of the future and color between the lines, symbolically manipulating the visioned futures.
The second phase follows with the documentations of the process of participant coloring.
The photographs will be processed and bound as a series of coloring books for other rounds of coloring as a tangible output of an endeavour that is socially engaging and conceptually critiquing.
